EMERGING RESEARCHERS' FORUM
On the 10th July 2008 Vic ASSID hosted the first “Emerging Researchers’ Forum” at the Centre for Developmental Disability Health, Monash University. A small but dynamic group of students and research supervisors met to discuss their research focusing on people with intellectual disabilities, and the issues faced when doing research in this area. Associate Professor Teresa Iacono also presented on issues of having people with ID consenting to participating in research and what to do when people can’t consent on their own behalf (see attached). Below is a list of some to the students currently working on research involving people with ID in Victoria.
